Trans Fats

Hydrogenation is a process used to convert liquid vegetable oil (unsaturated fat) to a solid state (saturated fat), extending the shelf life. Trans-fats are created in the process. Baked goods, chips, margarines and fried foods are sources of trans-fat. Experts agree this is the worst type of fat you can eat. It raises LDL and triglycerides while lowering HDL, increasing the risk of heart disease.
